Our theme for 2025 is Turn Up the Volume, highlighting the importance of risk professionals being heard in their organisations and the profession, and to shout out about successes and achievements.

What do you see the year ahead may bring that will need action, planning, and new thinking for 2025? What has worked well for you in recent years?

ALARM’s 2025 National Conference will feature approximately 40 engaging educational sessions. These sessions are a valuable resource for new and seasoned risk professionals and provide presenters with an opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and experience, and share good practice, innovative ways to address timely issues, and raise emerging risks that practitioners need to start to plan to manage.

Subjects could relate to changes in insurance, legislation, regulation, funding, resource, workforces and customers, and attitudes and expectations, plus wholesale societal shifts.

We are also seeking sessions to focus on the skills risk and insurance professionals need to raise their profile and have their voices heard in their organisations. These could include:

  • How to deliver risk workshops
  • Building internal and external relationships
  • Changing behaviours and attitudes
  • Carrying out peer reviews
  • Engaging with senior leadership
  • Undertaking strategy reviews
  • Challenging your current risk appetite and insurance programme.
You have until Friday 1 November 2024 to submit your proposal.

Successful applications for sessions will be based on:

  • Proposed content being specific, new and relevant to ALARM members.
  • Offering skills to ALARM members to raise or improve their 'voice' in their organisation.
  • Delivery of the session in workshop, panel discussion, Q&A, quiz, scenario, or trial formats. Attendee feedback has indicated that slide-based seminar formats that could be equally delivered online or as a webinar are not appropriate as members need to justify their attendance at in-person events.
  • Attendee interaction and engagement.
  • Learnings from the session being made obvious, with attendee access to follow-up information and signposting to relevant information.

Submit your proposals

Please complete the form below to submit your session proposal. You are welcome to submit up to three session proposals. You will need to complete a separate form for each.

Please note that priority will be given to member practitioners and Conference sponsors.
