Putting a risk management process into place is relatively easy. Making sure that process operates to deliver the real benefits of good risk management is a much more difficult task. 

This advanced course is designed to explore a number of the key factors that must be considered and addressed in order for risk management to operate effectively and add real value to the organisation.

It is assumed that those attending will already have a basic understanding of the principles of risk management. It is suitable for those who wish to further their understanding of the discipline of risk management and in particular those who wish to discuss and share insights and practical solutions with fellow practitioners. 

Participants will gain an understanding of:

• The importance of risk culture and methods for measuring risk culture
• An organisations risk appetite and how this can be articulated
• Decision making and the influence of risk perception and presentation of data
• The importance of monitoring and reporting of risk data
• Assessing risk maturity and using this to develop a risk management plan.

The training is mixture of formal teaching and practical exercises and real-life case studies. Attendees will be encouraged to discuss their organisations approach to risk management, raise issues and share practical solutions.
