Congratulations to Sarah Chapman, Assistant Head of the Tri-Borough Insurance Service and the 2025 recipient of the Bob Craik Award.
Presented with the Award at the ALARM South Conference in Slough this week, Sarah said:
“I was honoured to be awarded the Bob Craik award, to be recognised by the South East England Committee and Marsh means a lot.”
Sarah is the Assistant Head of the Tri-Borough Insurance Service, managing a team of six on claims for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and Westminster City Council.
Sarah’s team works across a variety of claims and deals with high value and politically sensitive claims, including Grenfell Tower. Sarah’s oversight also includes a drive to keep appropriate work in-house, reviewing claims data and trends, and establishing and maintaining stakeholder relationships across the three London councils and externally.
Sarah joined the Tri-Borough in 2016 and joined ALARM at the same time, becoming an active member of the risk management association. Sarah says:
“Since I joined the Tri-Borough, ALARM has been a great source of support, knowledge and a great network of individuals, through which I have learnt a lot. ALARM has helped me immensely in my role.”
Julia Reffell, Managing Director at Marsh said:
“Sarah is an exceptional claims professional whose dedication and expertise consistently shine. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of the claims process, she navigates complex situations with ease, ensuring the best possible outcomes. Sarah has strong communication and organisation skills, fostering collaboration within her team as well as driving efficiency. A thoroughly deserving recipient.”
Bob Craik was a former ALARM member and South East England Committee member who died in 2015. He was a passionate supporter of ALARM for many years. In 2015, JLT Specialty (now part of Marsh) began sponsoring an award in Bob’s memory.
This award is given annually to an ALARM member who exhibits the same professional approach as Bob did: taking pride in their work, having integrity and being motivated, being reliable and a team player, and being committed to the organisation and the risk management role.
