Session

The Fraud and Propriety Team at the National Audit Office will share findings and insights from the NAO’s work around fraud and error in public funds, and how public bodies can best manage fraud risks. They will also discuss good practice around fraud risk assessment and the measuring and reporting of fraud and error, and the challenges government faces in these areas. Chris and Joshua will first cover findings from the NAO’s work, before opening up to a Q&A and discussion of the topics covered.

Joshua Reddaway

Director of Fraud and Propriety, National Audit Office

Joshua is the Director of Fraud and Propriety at the NAO, where his role includes overseeing reports on fraud, corruption and propriety. Previously, Joshua led our value for money work relating to the Department for Work and Pensions, and our commercial and contracting insights work. He joined the NAO in 2002. Joshua has an executive MBA from the Bayes Business School.

Chris Barrett

Senior Audit Manager of Fraud and Propriety, National Audit Office

Chris is a Senior Manager of Fraud and Propriety at the NAO. He has been at the NAO since 2013 and previously specialised in financial audit. Chris has led a variety of significant audits of government, including financial audit of the Department for Work and Pensions and our Home Office audits in the asylum space. He has also worked as a committee specialist to the Work and Pensions Select Committee. Chris became ACA-qualified in 2014.
